I feel as though we are creating a website for our English course to get a better understanding of ourselves throughout the course and try something a majority of us, including myself, haven’t tried before. Personally, I’m excited to get into the habit of editing my own web page to heighten my abilities in creating websites in the future
Ball and Charlton define “multimodal” writing through five modes of meaning which are Linguistic, Aural, Visual, Gestural, and Spatial. They claim that using these modes ones writing, would in fact be multimodal.
Personally, I would have to disagree on this as a blasphemous piece of writing would be considered something so serious as multimodal wouldn’t make any sense. I view it as something of more meaning not just anything put into words.
When rating the modes I would have to give Linguistic a 5 as it is the study of language. Aural gets a 5 as well as hearing is important. Visual would also get a 5 since it physically seeing. But you don’t always have to see to believe. I would rate Gestural a 4. Spatial is rated a 3 since I don’t see the importance of space in writing.

The Proust Questionnaire __1.__What is your idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness is to not sweat or worry about things we can’t change. Going with the flow has been my motto for the longest. __2.__What is your greatest fear? My greatest fear is heights. I’ve hated them ever since I was young, such as times when my dad would take me to work with to climb roofs with ladders and install satellites so people can watch cable TV. He told me to not look down but I always persisted. __3.__What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? The trait I most deplore in myself is that I overthink way too much. I overthink about overthinking which leads to more overthinking. __4.__What is the trait you most deplore in others? I hate in others is when people do “anything for the gram” meaning doing stupid challenges which is usually online trends of people involving themselves in doing stupid activities to impress others. __5.__Which living person do you most admire? I admire my parents most in this world. It’s common for someone to say their own parents, but they’ve worked hard since we came to America in ‘99 from a 3rd world country to provide for the family. __6.__What is your greatest extravagance? Clothes. If I’m in a bad mood, I’m shopping for clothes to up my mood. I have been able to maintain it through recent years, though. __7.__What is your current state of mind? My current state of mind is going with the flow of things. I hate complaining about things so I just let things go. __8.__What do you consider the most overrated virtue? I consider Love the most overrated virtue. Why? I have no idea. __9.__On what occasion do you lie? When my parents ask where I was at during a late night out. __10.__What do you most dislike about your appearance? My beard has orange in it. People think it’s cool but I have yet to accept it so I shave it when I can. __11.__Which living person do you most despise? I don’t hate anyone. I don’t care unless they’re giving my family or friends problems. __12.__What is the quality you most like in a man? Being secure about themselves. __13.__What is the quality you most like in a woman? Nice Personality and loyalty. Especially if we’re dating. __14.__Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “Feel me?” “Thats crazy” “You’re Trippin” __15.__What or who is the greatest love of your life? Never been in love __16.__When and where were you happiest? When I was younger from the years 2000-2007, I always wish I could go back to those times. I Didn’t have a worry in the world and I would play with friends outside everyday, school was easy and fun. The list goes on. __17.__Which talent would you most like to have? Playing more instruments like the piano. Who doesn’t want to be good at playing piano!? __18.__If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My laziness, if I have a list of things that I have to do, I’ll keep telling myself “next time.” It’s annoying and I hate that I do it. __19.__What do you consider your greatest achievement? Maintaining a job for 6 years and being so good I keep moving from restaurant to restaurant, since the owner owns 3 restaurants altogether. I can deal with super busy places for over 15 hours a day. __20.__If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be? I want to come back as a dog. __21.__Where would you most like to live? I would like to live in Los Angeles, California. I know people from their and they all said it was a cool place to visit or live in. __22.__What is your most treasured possession? My PlayStation 4. I have over 150 games for it and many memories. __23.__What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? 2013. Lost many friends, but it helped me grow stronger through the years. __24.__What is your favorite occupation? Working out at the gym. I like to lift weights and get stronger. __25.__What is your most marked characteristic? I’m humble and don’t like to brag. __26.__What do you most value in your friends? That would definitely have to be loyalty. Just keeping it real with me is all. __27.__Who are your favorite writers? Stephen King. He’s an absolute genius. __28.__Who is your hero of fiction? Spider-Man. I always looked up to him as a kid. __29.__Which historical figure do you most identify with? I never really identified myself with a historical figure. __30.__Who are your heroes in real life? My parents and sister. They always had my back and supported me just enough to be a better person day by day. __31.__What are your favorite names? My favorite names are Kev and Kevin. __32.__What is it that you most dislike? I dislike people that lie about little things. It’s not that serious and shows weakness and insecurity. __33.__What is your greatest regret? My greatest regret is not spending more time with the people that I care about most and keep making excuses whenever I’m not in the mood to hang out or talk. __34.__How would you like to die? Old age at a beach, if I ain’t at the beach no more, you can probably guess what happened. __35.__What is your motto? YOLO- You Only Live Once. |
